Supermarket Salsa Tasting
with Al Sicherman and Lynne
July 7, 2001

When it comes to salsa, we say fresh is best, but when lush, perfectly ripe tomatoes are not to be found, is bottled salsa an acceptable substitute? Al and Lynne sampled some supermarket brands to find out. Lynne and Al tasted and compared the following brands of bottled salsa:

Muir Glen Organic Salsa with Garlic and Cilantro: 16 ounces for $3.49

Pace Medium Hot with Cilantro: 16 ounces for $2.79

Frontera Jalapeño Cilantro: 16 ounces for $4.59

Lynne's top pick was Pace, the least expensive of the bunch.
